i'd add clean up foreclosure houses to the list. The house next to mine walked and left a bunch of garbage out on the curb. I topped my garbage off for 2 weeks cleaning it. It seems noone else cared? They finally got the rest of it cleaned up because its on the market now. Assuming the realtor took care of it...
I just bought out here, so thats probably why i cared, haha. Still, neighbors saw me out there, help out a little..
David,
Thanks for taking an interest in your neighborhood. If we all help out around the streets we live on then we can feel safer and live in a cleaner town. If you have a Home Owners Association in your neighborhood I would report any messes you see on the vacant homes.
No homeowners, we are on our own out here. The only neighbor that talks to me is the next door one. A little disapointed in the "friendliness" out here. Im a big fan of block party's etc. Id like to get to know who my 3 year old daughter will be playing with come summertime, etc. tough times right now, so im hoping some of the neighbors open up a little more once we are all outdoors more.
David,
My suggestion is take on a project and go door-to-door. I've met some wonderful folks in my city of Claycord. Just by going door-to-door collecting fruit for the food pantries.
If you need help in printing flyers, or typing something, send me an e-mail.
