Oakley to S.F.

Today the Mayor of Broakley had to drive to S.F. I left Oakley at 6:30 A.M.
I didn't arrive in S.F. until 10:00 A.M. It took me 3.5 hours to drive 54 miles.
What is going on with our local freeways. Just to get to concord it was about an hour
this morning. Hwy 4 like most mornings was backed up to Hillcrest. Hwy 242 was
moving at a snails pace. Hwy 24 finally picked up a little, but after coming out of the tunnels
and merging onto Hwy 80 before the Toll booths it went back to 5 mph. Something needs to
be done about our freeways. Personally the Mayor of Broakley feels they need to finish widening Hwy 4 first to alleviate the congestion out here.

What are your thoughts?

Widen Highway 4 for starters. Widen Vasco to expressway width minimum. New corridor from South of Antioch/Sand Creek Road to East Concord to tie in with 242. These alone could all be done fairly easily with the right motivation from our elected officials, and with toll road payment. Orange County has a few of these now, and more in the works. They help, and the cost is diverted via the tolls. This would be a start. Also, bring BART all the way through Brentwood, and on to Tracy, then back to Dublin. That would also help.

Stop building. The more homes that sre built, the more people will be here, the more traffic there will be.
